Wednesday, Nov. 4th @ 4pm
Civil Rights Front activists, their allies, and outraged members of the community met at the Federal Building in Rochester, NY to hold a peaceful protest against the Nov. 3rd Maine decision to leave GLBT families out, once again, when it comes to Equality & Justice.
On Wednesday, November 4, students at the University of Washington staged a kiss-in to celebrate the passage of Referendum 71, a ballot measure to approve legislation extending all the state rights of marriage to same-sex domestic partnerships. The event was organized by SOLE, Students Organizing for LGBT Equality, which formed after the October 11 Seattle Equality March to raise awareness and to organize to fight for lgbt issues on the campus.
Seattle OUTProtest is currently planning a city-wide rally to celebrate the passage of Referendum 71 on November 14 at noon. Seattle OUTProtest, which formed in June to organize a response to an appearance by the Westboro Baptist Church, called together a broad grassroots coalition of activists and organizations to organize the Seattle LGBT Equality March in solidarity with the National Equality March and to rally for Referendum 71.
